The Handbook for Teaching Excellence, created by the Center for Teaching staff, supports all UI instructors in navigating their teaching roles and creating meaningful learning experiences for their students.

In the handbook, you’ll find opportunities for reflection on learning and teaching experiences and evidence-based strategies for:

• Planning aligned and equitable courses

• Nurturing a sense of belonging for students

• Teaching in various contexts

• Other teaching and learning topics.

This OER includes syllabi and other teaching resources for teachers (or curious learners) of Creative Nonfiction Writing. An ongoing shared resource for educators in an ever-evolving genre.

This open textbook for students in core Library and Information Science courses introduces students to selected historical and contemporary issues in LIS. Centered on the question, “What is a library?,” the text includes explorations of norms of practice in libraries, information gathering, and professional values. This text offers students – both those who currently work in libraries and those who don’t – a foundational exploration of theoretical and ethical issues related to the field.

This guide is primarily intended for recipients of the University of Iowa Libraries’ OpenHawks OER grants. It includes information from openly licensed sources on topics such as copyright, licensing, OER definitions, and open pedagogy.

Localization and Treatment Procedures in Radiation Therapy provides an overview of patient simulation, treatment planning, and treatment delivery. The goal of the book is to educate learners on conventional and modern simulation procedures, treatment planning fundamentals and considerations, and treatment delivery techniques and technologies in an ever-evolving field. The content is designed for radiation therapy students, professionals, and all communities of interest.
