94 Active Listening

I actively listened to my boss Kelvin. Kelvin was talking about immigrating to America and his home back in Mexico. I learned a lot of interesting things about the culture and lifestyle in Mexico. I also learned a lot about how immigrating to America impacted his own life and his family.  Active listening comes easily to me because I once took a class on counseling that taught me how to listen, rephrase, and summarize. As well as other useful behavior to keep in mind while listening to people talk about themselves.

People want to be listened to and truly understood. Active listening is important because being able to connect and listen to people helps develop good relationships with them.
