93 Reflections on Learning

What does it mean to reflect on my learning?

Reflecting on my learning means taking what I have learned and being able to put it to use. That means thinking about how what I learned might apply to a real-world setting. This can usually lead to continuing to learn and take in new information.

What do I know about Health Humanities?

In class we discussed how Health Humanities can be defined as the study of health and medicine but with the support of an arts and humanities approach alongside it. Health humanities draws on the importance of indiviudal experiences/stories  amongst patients but also the group effort amongst clinicians. We have used outside material to help build on this idea with personal narratives and actual clinicians telling their own stories within healthcare. This allows people to take on approach that allows for more compassion and understanding within the medical field.
