33 About me

Kaitlyn Haines

My name is Kaitlyn Haines and I am a current sophomore here at the University of Iowa. I am majoring in biochemistry and I am also on the Pre-Dental track. I am originally from Marion, Iowa which is about a 40 minute drive from here. I love reading books, hanging out with my friends, playing volleyball and listening to music. My interest in dentistry sparked in high school when I took a dental anatomy class through my local community college. I think that the healthcare field is growing vastly and I want to make a change in my community where I can make my patients feel happier and healthier. I believe that healthcare overall is much too expensive and insurance can be hard to cover those costs or even receive at all. I hope this class helps me to understand the disparities in health care more and how humanities can play a big role in how medical providers treat their patients.
