18 About Me

Hello, my name is Lillie Cuatt, and I am a third-year student at the College of Public Health. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, I had the experience of growing up in the rural south which broadened my perspective on rural disparities and the systemic issues within healthcare.I chose to major in Public Health after realizing that the current healthcare system is deeply flawed. Rather than simply addressing the consequences of these systemic failures, I want to be part of the solution, preventing these consequences from occuring. I am particularly passionate about women’s healthcare, maternal health, environmental sustainability, and promoting equitable access to healthcare and healthy food systems. I also aim to address pressing issues such as regulating contaminants in food and water, combating racism, and reforming the criminal justice system.

I believe that Public Health provides a broad and dynamic field that will allow me to pursue my passions in a way that can create meaningful change. I’m excited to explore how this course can help me refine my career path and contribute to improving the systems that need transformation.
