15 About Me: Graham Crippen

Hi, I’m Graham! I’m from Moline, Illinois, and I’m a sophomore at Iowa studying Microbiology on the pre-med track with a minor in French. My main goal for this class is to gain a broader understanding of healthcare and the effects of illness to better interact with patients. After shadowing a few clinicians this past summer, I have seen many interactions in which patients don’t feel valued or understood. I want to give myself the background to prevent those scenarios and develop stronger connections with the people I want to help.
