International Programs
International Programs (IP) provides guidance and support for international students in the UI community, as well as scholarships and assistance for UI students wishing to study, intern, or do research abroad. IP also supports UI faculty that are engaged in international research and helps to amplify the globally-oriented accomplishments of UI students, faculty, and staff through media and public engagement activities.
Study Abroad Office
The University of Iowa encourages all students to study abroad and sponsors more than 200 programs around the world.
Iowa offers programs during the summer and winter terms in addition to semester-long and year-long options. Where, when, and how long a student studies abroad depends on their academic and personal objectives.
By planning ahead with the Study Abroad Office and your academic advisor, you can study abroad and stay on track for graduation.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)
International Student and Scholar Services, or ISSS, provides pre-arrival and orientation activities, as well as, immigration, adjustment, personal, and financial advising for international students and scholars.
ISSS collaborates with other departments on campus on intercultural training programs for both domestic and international students to encourage all students to meet and learn from each other. Some examples are: Friends Without Borders, International Buddies at Tippie, and Bridging Domestic and Global Diversity.
