By this time, we’ve worked through many steps and learned about the ingredients needed when running for office. Now, how do you take that recipe and come out with a successful dish — that is, enough voters to win the election? The Nebraska League of Women Voters give us some ideas on how to identify and target voters — and raise the money to make a campaign work. The National Association of Social Workers offers financial support to candidates — and presses elected officials to do the right thing through its Political Action for Candidate Election arm. There is help out there within our ranks.
Nwanevu profiles four first-time candidates who tell us how they did it — inspiring AND instructive.
