Editing Checklist
Below is a brief checklist to use when you are reviewing and editing your Pressbook. For detailed information on each item, please refer to the sections an chapters indicated in parentheses below.
- Sections in a chapter use headings instead of bolded text (see Headings, Paragraphs, Subheadings, Chapter, and Lists)
- Headings start with heading 2 and follow a hierarchical structure (h2, h3, h4, etc.) with no skipping
- Links are hyperlinked behind descriptive text (see Hyperlinks)
- Images have alt-text (see Images)
- Images have an attribution statement (see Images)
- Everything is spelled correctly (see Spelling and Capitalization)
- Each sentence begins with a capital letter (see Spelling and Capitalization)
- Bold and italics are used sparingly (see Bold and Italics Usage)
- Tables have headers and captions (see Tables and Textboxes)
- Titles, headings, and body text are in standard case and not in all-caps (see Spelling and Capitalization)
