Responding to Tragedies Affecting Student Well-Being
We live in a time of intense upheaval. Every day we hear news of upsetting world eventsĀ as well as tragedies and unrest that hit close to home. It can be unclear when to address tragic events in the classroom, let alone how to bring them up. Because learning is both an intellectual and emotional process (Imad 2021), it is important that students feel supported academically and supported as people living complex realities.
