Suppose you run into one of your students several years after the student took your course. What do you hope they remembered and continued to use from your course? In other words, what would you like students to learn and not forget? Brainstorm about the skills, ideas, approaches, perspectives, information, and habits of mind you hope they have retained years after taking the course. What enduring understandings do you want students to acquire? How could it inform your plan for the last day of class?
