Event Management

Event management is an area of sport-related tourism where jobs are continuing to be added. We will assess the area by looking at three articles that use the Delphi technique to discern the current state of the industry in event management, and then more specifically security and aquatics operations. The Delphi Technique is a rolling, building conversation with a single moderator and multiple experts where concepts are built out and explored using open-ended questionnaires to determine a final more traditional survey. The goals of this section are to present the PIE method of event management (planning, implementing & evaluating) and see how standing and on-time use plans interact with several of the other areas we have already covered in the class.
