Conversazione: La famiglia e la casa

Take your phone or use any video recording system at your disposal, and video-record yourself while speaking in Italian!

Describe your family and your house:  who is part of your family? How do they look like? What is their personality? What activity do you like to do, together or personally? What does your house look like? Is there a place that you call home? How does it look like? And remember…have fun!

Speak spontaneously for 2-3 minutes. DO NOT READ.

Once you have your video, upload the file or the youtube link on the course website.

Tips and Tricks

To help you prepare for this recording, and as you go through your descriptions, think about answering these questions:

  • Quante persone ci sono nella tua famiglia?
  • Chi sono e come sono? (physical and personality description)
  • Che cosa fate insieme?
  • Che attività fanno queste persone?
  • Com’è la vostra casa?

Remember: you don’t have to show them in person, you can use a picture if they don’t want to be on camera 😊

If you don’t want to describe personal things like family or house, feel free to use your imagination! We love creativity! Talk about your ideal family, or a fictional family, or a family on a tv show that you like…

Remember to use Vocabulary from Part 1 to present them and talk about their age, Part 3, to describe them, and Part 4 to talk about activities, and of course this Part’s vocabulary to talk about the family and the house.

Group Conversation

Do you like a challenge?

If you feel audacious you can find a classmate and describe to each other your family and house (real or fictional).

  • Connect with a classmate (or another student of Italian) on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or another video conferencing tool and record the conversation. If you decide to do this, the whole conversation should last for up to 5 minutes.
  • Start with the questions above and conversate freely in Italian by asking and answering those and other questions that you have learned in class.
  • Keep asking also more precise questions about the people in the family or about their house.
