Conversazione: La storia infinita

Take your phone or use any video recording system at your disposal, and video-record yourself while speaking in Italian!

Invent and tell a story: you may invent it or take your inspiration from movies, tv, songs, comics, … BUT you have to tell the story in the past! Think about who are the characters, describe them physically and talk about their personality. Think about where the story took place, what type of accidents happened, who was involved in resolving the situation and how did they do it. Very important… have fun!

Speak spontaneously for 2-3 minutes. DO NOT READ.

Once you have your video, upload the file or the youtube link on the course website.

Tips and Tricks

To help you prepare for this recording, and as you go through your story, think about answering these questions:

  • Chi sono i personaggi (characters)?
  • Come sono i personaggi?
  • Dove erano? E dove sono andati?
  • Che cosa è successo?
  • Che cibo hanno mangiato? E che cosa hanno bevuto?
  • È successo qualcosa di interessante / divertente / straordinario / spaventoso /…?
  • Che cosa gli piaceva? Che cosa non gli piaceva?

Remember: be creative and use your imagination!

Remember: You can use pictures and sounds to help your story!

Remember: use BOTH Imperfetto and Passato Prossimo!

Remember: use REFLEXIVE and RECIPROCAL to talk about the routine of the characters, and the vocabulary of the body to talk about their appearance!

Remember: use Vocabulary from Parts 2 and 3 to describe the characters, as well as the vocabulary of the body from this Part; use vocabulary from Parts 4 and 6 to talk about activities and free time, Parts 9 and 10 to talk about places and travels, and of course you can talk about food from Part 11 as well.

Group Conversation

Do you like a challenge?

If you feel audacious you can connect with a classmate and create together a story!

OR you can challenge each other, and compete to tell the more creative/entertaining/mysterious/… story!

  • Connect with a classmate (or another student of Italian) on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or another video conferencing tool and record the conversation. If you decide to do this, the whole conversation should last for up to 5 minutes.
  • Start with the questions above and conversate freely in Italian by asking and answering those and other questions that you have learned in class.
