La negazione
In Italian, a negative sentence is formed by adding non before the verb:

Niente and nessuno
- (*) When nessuno or niente precedes the verb, non is omitted.
- Nessuno è arrivato in orario. (Nobody arrived on time.)
- Niente è semplice. (Nothing is simple.)
- Niente di + masculine singular adjective.
- Non c’è niente di buono in frigorifero. (There is nothing good in the fridge.)
- Niente da + verb
- Non ho niente da fare. (I have nothing to do.)
