Direct-object pronouns:
- replace the person(s) or object(s) that are receiving the action of a verb
- immediately precede a conjugated verb
Leggo il giornale. Lo leggo tutti i giorni. (I read the newspaper. I read it every day).
à Singular direct-object pronouns may elide (drop the final vowel) before verbs beginning with a vowel or before the forms of avere that begin with an h.
M’invitano (Mi invitano) sempre alle loro feste. (They always invite me to their parties).
