Ask for help
When you encounter a challenge, that may negatively impact your academic success or well-being, don’t wait until it becomes too difficult to manage. Asking for help is critical and expected. You came to Iowa to challenge yourself and to grow. Don’t let hesitations or negative stigma about asking for help get in the way of your success.
Network of support
You can take advantage of your network of support to help you overcome challenges. Your network of support is comprised of fellow students, faculty, and staff, as well as the academic resources and UI services available on campus.
Take the time to reflect on the people and resources outside of the University that have helped you be successful in the past. You’ll be able to find similar people and resources at Iowa.
