Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence (CIAE)
The Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence, or CIAE, is a valuable resource for multicultural activities and concerns. The CIAE provides an identity-affirming space and opportunities that foster student success, eliminate equity gaps, and create a sense of belonging for underrepresented students.
Access and Success
The CIAE focuses on the access and success of historically marginalized students. Through individual student support and passionate collaboration, we support our students’ educational experience by fostering an environment for students to actualize their goals and find community.
Services Offered
CIAE services are designed specifically to meet the needs of the historically underrepresented global majority, first generation students, low income students, students with disabilities and students who identify as members of the LGBTQ community.
Academic Coaches and TRIO Success Coaches are available in CIAE to assist with: academic challenges, Advantage Iowa scholarship questions, concerns or experiences of identity bias, transition difficulties or any questions students may have while at Iowa.
Programs
CIAE facilitates and supports multicultural programs to enhance the experiences of students on campus. It also provides many opportunities to get involved in events and attend programming that supports diversity and inclusivity.
